Our three luxury cottages are all based around the Courtyard and have access to the grounds. 

There’s ample parking, private outdoor space and all the facilities you need for a relaxing break.

Stable Lad’s Cottage

3 Bedrooms / Sleeps 6 

An original estate cottage, Stable Lad’s is the perfect retreat for up to six people. With two king size rooms (one en suite) and a twin room, this cottage is ideal for families.

 

The sitting room has a large wood burning stove and shutters at each of the triple aspect sash windows to make it even cosier. The dining area and kitchen still have the original ranges in place – sadly no longer in use but an interesting reminder of times gone by. Downstairs is heated by underfloor heating which creates a warm and welcoming environment from the moment you arrive.

The kitchen is well equipped and we provide a welcome pack to all our guests.

There’s super fast WiFi, NOW TV, DVD player and a turntable with a supply of great old vinyl LPs and singles plus plenty of books.

Upstairs there are three large bedrooms, each with beautiful bed linen, towels and a supply of toiletries. The master bedroom is ensuite with one of our characterful round windows and there is a further bathroom with bath and shower.

Outside, Stable Lad’s has its own parking area for up to three cars and a private decking area perfect for warm evenings. There’s a table tennis table and lots of space in the grounds to explore. We’ve also got secure space for your bikes and will be very happy to advise on routes for walking, hiking, cycling or paddling.

The Hay Loft

Our biggest cottage, The Hay Loft has one super king, two king size and a twin bedroom giving families or groups loads of space to relax. 

 

There is a very sociable first floor kitchen, living and dining area with original beams and two lovely round windows – which were once used to toss hay down into the courtyard below - with unique wooden shutters (which are a real hit with our younger guests).

As you walk in, there’s a spacious flagstone floored entrance hall which is ideal for coats, jackets and muddy boots. The underfloor heating makes for a cosy and warm environment throughout the downstairs rooms. There is one king size bedroom and another with two single beds. These bedrooms share a downstairs shower room. 

Upstairs, there are two further large and elegantly furnished bedrooms - one with a super king and one with king size bed. They share a bathroom with twin sinks and a bath with shower. 

The well-equipped living space has a large dining area, kitchen and comfortable seating area centred around a wood burning stove (we’ll provide plenty of logs for cold evenings). There’s super fast WiFi, TV, NOW TV, DVD and a turntable with a supply of nostalgic vinyl.

Outside there’s parking for two to three cars and a seating area to make the most of the grounds and views. The table tennis table under the central arches is always popular with guests of all ages.

Owl’s Roost

Owl’s Roost is the perfect place for relaxing and entertaining with its its own private outdoor space.

This cottage has our signature elegant bedroom with four-poster super king bed. The room features more of our incredible round windows with views over to the Black Mountains. 

Upstairs there’s a large sociable sitting, eating, kitchen area with wood burning stove and loads of space for big groups. 

If you’re taking more than one of the cottages, this is where we’ll set up a dining table for 12-19 people, making it the ideal place for a big celebration.  

Downstairs, there’s a warm and spacious king size room with en-suite 'jack and jill' bathroom and adjoining single room (with a further pull-out bed) making it ideal for couples with younger children. We can also provide a cot – which fits perfectly in this room.

Up the characterful red painted staircase there is the main bedroom and living area complete with TV, NOW TV, turntable and supply of old vinyl - and of course, super fast WiFi. 

Owl’s Roost is the perfect place for couples looking for a unique place to stay or families wanting to spend time together. There is a private outdoor space, BBQ facilities and access to the shared grounds of Glanhenwye.

All our cottages are available for short stays of 3 nights (contact us if you want a shorter stay) or longer. 

 

We provide all the linen and towels for your stay and you’ll find the cottages well equipped with everything you need. All the major supermarkets deliver to us and you'll find a lovely welcome hamper from us on arrival.

Well behaved dogs are welcome (at £25 / stay).
